Tinted Moisturizers

Long gone are the days where one has to put heavy foundation on their face to even out their complexion.  Today’s woman is on the go and wants beauty that is quick and easy.  One of the current trends in foundations is tinted moisturizers – “foundations” that are part moisturizer, part color, which provide a flawless complexion that is not only sheer but provides effective coverage as well as skin benefits such as vitamins and SPF protection.  To get optimal results, as with any foundation, start with a proper skin care routine for your skin type which should include twice daily cleansing, nightly moisturizer/serum, eye cream and an exfoliator or mask used twice a week.  Used with a foundation primer and applied with a foundation brush, (setting powder optional) the following brands are sure to deliver beautiful results.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.  This cult favorite provides amazing lightweight buildable coverage for a tinted moisturizer.  It also contains spf 20 for powerful antioxidant protection. “>Josie Maran Tinted Moisturizer.  This sheer coverage product is a moisturizer, foundation, and contains spf 30 for UVA/UVB protection.  Like all of Josie Maran products, this tinted moisturizer contains Argan Oil.  This key ingredient contains vitamin E and fatty acids which help to hydrate, tone and firm and is great for acne prone/oily skin.  Available in 5 shades and retails for $38.

Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer.  This sheer oil free tinted moisturizer contains antiaging complexes, spf 15 and is deeply hydrating.  Contains Instalift which lifts and tightens within one hour of usage.  Hyaluronic spheres minimize the appearance of wrinkles and is made without parabens and sulfates and is water resistant.  Available is 6 shades and retails for $55.

“>Make up Forever Face & Body Liquid Makeup.  This sheer to buildable, water based gel is lightweight and mimics the feel and finish of a tinted moisturizer.  What’s great about this product is that it can be used all over the body and leaves a natural satin finish.  Best suited for normal skin and doesnt call attention to imperfections such as fine lines and pores.  Available in 16 shades and retails for $38.

Bobbi Brown Extra SPF 25 Tinted Moisturizer Balm.  This product is perfect for those who have dehydrated skin.  This ultra rich soothing balm goes on smoothly leaving the skin with sheer coverage and a dewy radiant finish.  Available in 8 shades and retails for $50.
