Melt If Off is a diet and fitness plan designed by Olympic medal winner gymnast Mitch Gaylord. In it he utilizes his expertise in gymnastics training to create a well-rounded plan of attack to help you lose weight fast. The first part of his program is called the 3-Day Melt that is designed to help kick start weight loss, and Mitch claims that by strictly following the detailed diet plan and workout routines you can lose up to 5 pounds just 3 days.
The complete Melt It Off set comes with: the G-Ball (a 2-lb weighted ball that looks similar to a small basketball); the Melt It Off Program Guide (10-day meal plans, and journal to help you track your progress); the 3-day Melt It off Kick Start guide (mentioned above); and 3 Workouts on one DVD – Cardio Burn & Sculpt, Sizzlin’ Abs, and High-Calorie Melt. All of the workouts use the G-Ball and promote balance and core strengthening.
After trying the program out, I think it would be good for beginners who may need more help and detailed instruction to start losing weight and getting in shape. Mitch does a great job of explaining the workouts and outlining the meal-plans of which there are two versions for men and women. The Melt It Off workouts would also be good for a more advanced exerciser who is looking for something different to add into their routine as there are different modifications for each exercise you can follow based on your fitness level.
I did notice that it may not be the best for someone who doesn’t have much time to cook their own food however. It may be difficult to follow the strict diet plan that does not offer a lot of alternatives if you do not like the foods or have allergies to certain foods (like nuts). Nonetheless, the workouts are intense and Mitch is great at keeping you motivated throughout each exercise. The cost of the total start up program is about $20, and there are optional upgrades you can purchase once you have mastered the beginning level such as new advanced DVD workouts, and a 4lb or 6lb weighted ball.
