Hair Extensions – What Are Our Options?

Hair ExtensionsToday, women are searching for hairstyles to accommodate their busy lifestyles.  Many have opted for hair extensions, because there is less maintenance required.  But, they may not know what to select in regards to their busy schedules and lifestyles.

There are many choices and should be selected by desired style, hair texture, and whether the hair is chemically treated and/or natural.  Some of the selections are as follows:

a.  Interlocking:  A “no-braid no glue” technique for the client who wants the commercial hair integrated with her natural hair with just a “hint” of fullness and length.

b.  Braid and Sew-In: One of the oldest techniques, where the natural hair is braided and the commercial hair is attached to the braid.

c.  Bonding:  This tends to be the easiest technique for clients, because the commercial hair is glued/bonded throughout the natural hair. Another application consists of the natural hair being molded and the commercial hair is bonded on top of the molded natural hair.

As you select the hair extensions option for you and your lifestyle, be sure to do your research on the different techniques.  Because these techniques can be “pricey” depending on your geographical area, be sure to ask a lot of questions to ensure you are getting what you are purchasing.
