Bender Ball
The Bender Ball is a new, smaller version of the recently popularized stability ball, by personal trainer Leslie Bender. Leslie claims that the Bender Ball is up to 408% more effective than regular abs crunches alone and 200% more effective than the larger stability balls. Her program includes 2 workout DVDs, one focuses solely on your core and the other is just for your buns & thighs. The stability ball itself is not a new piece of exercise equipment; these have been used for years by personal trainers and fitness buffs to tighten tone different parts of the body. The Bender Ball provides instruction on how to correctly use the ball in numerous different exercises to get the best results. The core exercise part of the DVD is broken up into three stages and increase in intensity as you go along. They definitely work your abs and you will be sore! Many of the moves are based on traditional Pilates movements and include a variety of different positions.
The Bender Ball would be great for anyone who is just starting to work out, or looking to switch up their regular fitness routine. However, it is only one part of what you should be doing to get in shape. You cannot rely solely on this program to get toned, that requires watching your diet, cardio and upper-body workouts. We think the Bender Ball is a pretty good investment in terms of the cost to what you get; the ball and two DVDs are only about $15. It’s fun and different, and definitely will give you a good abdominal and lower –body workout. Added bonus: the small (about 7 inches in diameter) ball hardly takes up any space and is much easier to store than the large stability balls.
