A Flawless Foundation…
A Flawless Foundation…
Perhaps, one of the most important parts of a make-up yet, the hardest to achieve is the foundation.
First, what is the purpose, why is it so important. Well, it sets the stage for all of the other aspects of your make-up. Without a flawless, even finish, the rest of your make-up gets lost. With a beautiful foundation application, the decorative aspects of your make-up such as the eyes and cheeks stand out!
So, let’s talk foundation. Mud’s Cream Foundation comes in 16 shades from light to dark great for every skin tone. It’s very versatile and can be applied from a sheer to full coverage. It all depends on what your needs are. Can be applied with a sponge or foundation brush. It’s long lasting, light on skin and every age group and skin type can wear it yes, even those with oily skin. Just dampen a sponge to pick-up only the pigment.
Foundation, also know as base, needs to be matched to your skin tone. Too light and it looks like your ill or, have the floating head syndrome, too dark, well, it’s just looks un-natural. If you are having trouble seeing your true color, seek the advice of a professional.
Base matching is free at both of Mud’s mud shops in Los Angeles and New York.
To base match yourself, good lighting is imperative. Bright, white light is best. The area just above your jaw-line and just below the cheekbone is a good place to match color. What you’re looking for. The lightness to darkness of the skin and, the undertone. Undertones can vary from olive to pink/peach. Note; the majority of the world’s populous has an olive undertone.
Once you have found what you think is the right color, try a small amount on your finger and blend it in. If it disappears in the mirror you have found the right match!
For a sheer application apply Mud’s Face Primer to the skin first. To apply the foundation, use a sponge or Mud’s #940 Foundation Brush right over the primer.
If you tend to be a little shiny you can lightly powder using Mud’s Loose powders.
Now you are ready to continue with Brows, Eyes, Cheeks and Lips!
